As we unpack the Kingdom we are discerning a central tenet of our faith - the Trinity. God in Three Persons; God the Father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit forming the Holy Trinity or Godhead.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John 14:26
Do you know the Holy Spirit? Jesus tells us that He dwells in us and the world cannot receive Him because it does not know Him. Perhaps a better question is “How well do you know the Holy Spirit?” As our Helper, He is to teach us all things. That word teach has some unique parameters; “to instruct with discipline”; “to initiate into certain mysteries” ; to “learn a secret”. When I first saw that instruct with discipline part the first thing that jumped to my mind was punishment. Far from it, that instruction with discipline keeps us from punishment or more practically, unwanted consequences brought on by our ignorance. Being initiated into certain mysteries, learning a secret, that is intriguing to me. It makes me want to keep going and learn more…even though the cost of learning is discipline, it's going to bring me to a place where I’ll be initiated into certain mysteries. A place where I’ll learn secrets. A place where I will be quite special and valuable. What an adventure!
