Who You Are as a Man: Co-Creator & Cultivator

Via TJC

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” ~Genesis 1:1

Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground,

~Genesis 2:5

This week we are looking at God-defined roles for Kingdom men, grounded in Genesis.

We have an enemy, and spiritual warfare is occurring all around us. If you’re not impacted - chances are you're not making an impact. Throughout this week be thinking about who you are as Kingdom man, and how to communicate each role to positively impact those closest to you.

What does it mean to create? According to the dictionary, it means “to cause to come into being something unique that would not naturally evolve or that is not made by ordinary processes; to evolve from one’s own thought or imagination, as a work of art or invention.” This definition echoes God’s actions in the Creation story.

Genesis 1 states, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 2:5 explains that no plants appeared because God hadn’t sent the rain, and there was no one to work the ground. As the ultimate Creator, God tasked humans with nurturing the natural world, engaging in a form of co-creation.For life to flourish, God needed to send rain and humans to work the land.

We are called by God to contribute to the flourishing of the natural world through our creativity and labor. Our role involves caring for creation and participating in its growth, acting as stewards of the earth’s resources. Using our imaginations, talents, and relationships, we can create unique, artful, and innovative things.

Though I never considered myself creative, I now see that expressing creativity with God is His desire for me. It doesn’t matter that I can’t draw or sing; I have tools and talents. God just wants me to get to work. He’ll bring the rain!

Daily Battle Order:

Consider today your God-given calling as Co-Creator & Cultivator, and how your example is impacting those closest to you. Discuss at the dinner table tonight, to cultivate and grow the relationships closest to you.
