Who are The Joshua Commission?

via TJC

“Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua‬ 24:14-15‬ NIV‬‬‬‬

Who are you following or allowing to lead you? Really great leaders are rare.

Joshua was a brilliant military leader, who with Caleb had spied out the Promised Land and saw that it was good, but then Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years because they refused to obey God. Joshua is chosen to be Moses’ successor because he submitted to God. He leads the Israelites to possess the Promised Land. He was victorious, because when God spoke, Joshua listened and obeyed.

Joshua’s obedience is a model for all Kingdom Men. As Kingdom Men we live in a broken world full of temptations and evil, but still full of incredible promise. We must establish new standards based on God’s Word and not society. We must adjust our way of thinking to see God’s standards and live up to them.

Our strength to do God’s work comes from trusting Him to guide us in our decisions and struggles. God’s guidance can be found daily in His word.

We can be strong leaders like Joshua, by listening and moving quickly when God instructs us and diligently obeying. We must complete all the work He gives us and apply his instructions to every corner of our lives.

The Joshua Commission mobilizes Christian Men to seek after, choose, study, and apply God’s words in all our daily actions and thoughts. While we all belong to great churches, we recognize the necessity of advanced training, assembling together to pray, worship and study to fulfill the Great Commission and build disciple makers who obey our Father.

Like Joshua saw amidst brethren- even in the promised land, too many of us hold onto false Gods, idols, and wrong "stinking thinking" - rather than fearing God and faithfully serving Him.

This is a journey, one through contested land, as the Kingdom is at war. Each of us was created to know Godly victory when we make the decision to truly serve our Lord. We have been entrusted in the great commission to then be examples of strength, courage, love and faithfulness being discipled and discipling others.

In short, TJC is you and I, alongside other men following our marching orders to gain victory in battle.

Daily Battle Order: In 2022 get off the sidelines and commit to following Jesus' command and start discipling other men. TJC is here with you.
