This week, we are detailing the core activities and processes of TJC.

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” ~Joshua 24:15

There’s a tradition that I regret I did not completely hand down to my children. Looking back, it still has a profoundly positive impact on so many things in my childhood, spiritually as well as emotionally. At the time, it was referred to as “Family Altar”. There were many amazing and inspiring aspects of this event. It involved the reading of scripture. We prayed. We questioned. We sang. We dealt with issues. We hugged. We swallowed our pride. We repented. We WORSHIPPED.

The miracle of God’s grace is the fact that those same children that I short-changed… are a part of faithful Kingdom families. They observe family worship. They prioritize the community and fellowship of saints. They love Jesus. Going down a side road of encouragement here: Persevere. Abide. Hold on. God will sustain and honor your legacy. It’s the life’s blood of family worship, and worship is the life’s blood of Kingdom families.

By the way…

I don’t care how good an actor you are, you can’t fake this. You either love your family enough to take an active role in their spiritual growth… or you don’t. Don’t give the enemy an inch of territory in this battle. The Joshua Commission takes responsibility for the future of their families. You can too.

DAILY BATTLE ORDER: TJC invites you to join us in prayerfully offering up our families to Christ and submitting to His will. At your “family altar” tonight, make your commitment to face down the enemy as a family.
