The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people who suppress the truth by their wickedness since what may be known about God is plain to them because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse... Romans 1:18-20
The Spirit of AntiChrist wants you to believe that God is an old man judging you from a cloud with a thunderbolt in his hand. It wants to turn God into a cartoon but has one problem: God is clearly known to all humans. God bursts forth from the beauty of love, hope, and whatever is honorable, just, pure, lovely, or commendable. God created us with the power to know him. You have all the necessary hardware and software right now as you read this.
Therefore, the Spirit of AntiChrist injects the world with counterfeits, diversions, and thought systems which seem very reasonable. However, there is only one road to God, and it is narrow. Here are some examples of trickery:
God didn’t say, “Be true to yourself”. He said that you have to be true to God, not yourself. In fact, you have to deny yourself to follow his Son, and it won’t be easy. You’re not welcome in this world, but you are equipped to see that God has overcome the world and will answer the door to anyone who seeks him.
God didn’t say, “Follow your heart”. He said, “Follow me”. Through his prophet Jeremiah, he said that the heart is deceitful “above all things” and “desperately wicked.” There’s nothing wrong with seeing with the eyes of the heart (Ephesians 1:17-19), but do you see the lie? It’s not “where your heart is, and there is your treasure.” No, it’s “where your treasure is, there is where your heart WILL Be.” (Matthew 6:21). Read that again and know. People, we have got to read this Bible. Don’t trust your heart. The Word is your treasure. Your heart must follow.
God didn’t say, “Believe in yourself”. He said that we should believe in Him and that His Son is the way, the truth, and the life. Don’t trust any other source.
God didn’t say, “Everyone should live their truth.” Jesus said to Pontius Pilate that He was the truth. It was Pontius who said, “What is the truth?” not Jesus Christ.
“Follow your heart,” “Be true to yourself,” “Believe in yourself,” and “Live your truth”. What do these statements have in common? They are all half-truth gateways to the exchange of the image of God for a new image: the worship of yourself. Once the antichrist has you worshiping you, then you’ve dropped your armor and given permission to be influenced.
Have you ever met someone who hated the Holy Spirit within you for no good reason? Maybe they called you a hypocrite - perhaps worse. As Paul teaches, such people are without excuse to know God, but they choose instead to try a spoonful of sugar with a lie buried in it. They took that medicine, exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and opened the doors to their house.
Daily Battle Order:
When in doubt, pray on your knees and give it all over to Jesus Christ. We have to treat the Word of God as a manual. This isn’t a game. Paul can help you. You are being lied to every day and in most images you see. These lies are convincing. They play to your vulnerabilities, even things that any reasonable person should believe. The goal of these lies is one-pointed: Your exchange of God for yourself and subsequent denial of Christ. However, you have everything that you need to know God, but you have to study the Word.
