Vision Worth Following

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but happy is he that keeps the law.” ~ Proverbs 29:18 

History is often shaped by powerful visions.

One of the most influential visions in American history was Manifest Destiny—the belief that the United States was destined to expand across the continent. It inspired courage, perseverance, innovation, and a willingness to venture into the unknown. It helped build roads, railroads, towns, and opportunities that still impact us today.

Yet history also reminds us that vision must be measured not only by what it achieves, but by how it impacts those along the way

Alongside expansion came displacement. Alongside opportunity came injustice. Alongside progress came pain for people whose stories are often overlooked.

The lesson is not simply where a vision leads, but who we become while pursuing it

That is why Gospel vision is so important. It’s the model.

Jesus cast a vision for His followers, but it was not centered on acquiring territory, influence, or power. His vision was rooted in serving others, loving enemies, caring for the vulnerable, and seeking first the Kingdom of God.

As Kingdom Men, we should pursue vision boldly, but hold it humbly. We should regularly ask who benefits from our plans, who may be affected by our decisions, and whether our ambitions reflect the heart of Christ.

A vision from God should not only move us forward. It should make us more loving, more just, more humble, and more faithful along the way.

The goal is not merely to accomplish great things. The goal is to become the kind of men who accomplish them in a way that honors God and blesses others.

Daily Battle Order: 

Review a current goal, project, or decision. Ask yourself: Who will benefit from this? Who could be negatively affected? What adjustment can I make to better reflect the heart of Christ?
