Ultimate Humility

via TJC

Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!  And this will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” ~ Luke 2:11-12

When our first son was born, I remember hanging out by his crib watching him sleep, so helpless and small. I laughed because I realized that was how God saw me as well. Most of us do not remember when we were babies and how helpless we really were. On our own we were immobile, unable to feed or change ourselves and completely dependent on our parents. This was the state that the King of the Universe entered when He was born. He gave up phenomenal cosmic power for a tiny helpless body so he could do a test drive of creation and fix some flaws that had crept in. He did all of this knowing what his ultimate end would be and yet, he still came to save us.

Daily Battle Order: As you move closer to Christmas, remember to embrace humility and reliance on God. See yourself the way God sees you: feeble, slow and helpless without His help. Embrace the baby and the cross and thank God for His ultimate humility.
