Turn up the Praise to 1000!

via TJC

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:3-4

I recently went through a prolonged period of unemployment which caused us to increase our debt and reduce our savings to almost nothing, leaving us in a deep financial hole. Thankfully, after months of looking, I now have an amazing job that will allow us, with discipline, to climb out of that hole, but I have to acknowledge that our goals and dreams had to be postponed.  I know I could feel angry at our situation and upset at what happened but I chose to continuously praise God during the transition because I know it was a test of my faith.

Each day I learn more about the new job and company I was accepted into and I am amazed at how perfectly I fit, like the position was created just for me, and so I pour out praise. Because of the trial, we understand our finances better than ever and have a clear budget and have started to develop systems we otherwise would have passed by, so I pour out praise. Each day, I start to drift into the “what if” scenarios, of running out of money, foreclosure and bankruptcy, but none of that happened, so I pour out praise. I am still here, alive, healthy and ready to work hard to climb out of our situation, praising God for his love and continued blessing through the entire journey.

Daily Battle Order:

Today, think about your history with praise.  Do you only thank God when things are easy and the path is clear?  Or do you continually give your situation over to Him to guide and guard you?  Strive to thank God every day for giving you everything through His son.
