This is how I fight my battles: In Tithes and Offerings

via TJC “I the Lord do not change. Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me.” Malachi 3:6-9 NIV If someone knocked on my door with a summons; and I was being out on trial, I would stop everything I was doing and read all the fine print. And if it said God was putting me on trial for my sins, I would panic. My heart literally trembles reading the line that states “because you are robbing me.” Why? Because I know I’m guilty; I don’t have a chance in court. And then it singles out an example that I thought pastors just used to increase church revenue, but this is my summons - I have been “robbing” God. How can I possibly stand in court, guilty and cursed by the Lord Almighty? I’m expecting sheer wrath as I read the passage above again, and go on to verse 10 - and find an option that seems unbelievable - God literally says “test me, and I will bless you”. Finances are a battle ground in many homes; I’ve often warned young couples about the big three potential areas of conflict “sex, money and in-laws”. Don’t know about you but I want blessings in all three areas. Personally, we have been through many moves, job loss, job transitions, paying for kids’ college and weddings, always some unexpected bill, and we really need to catch up on retirement savings. We started Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University and it changed our lives, directing our resources, and truly joyfully give generously. And we have seen what seemed a curse become blessing. Daily Battle Order - get on-line today and look up Financial Peace University, or Crown Financial Ministries and take your treasure off the battlefield and put it into God’s savings and loan. And a benefit - removing a curse, will help your sex life.
