He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
Matthew 13:33
This week we have meditated on the Message, Stature and Attitude of God’s Kingdom. Today we think about the Impact of His Kingdom both on a personal and societal level. Anyone who has made bread knows what a little yeast will do to a few cups of flour. A small softball size lump of dense dough doubles or triples in size and becomes light and airy as the yeast causes it to expand. Now imagine the transformation of a wheelbarrow of dough by the yeast! What a mess!
We can look at ourselves and society as the unleavened dough. The Holy Spirit becomes the yeast in our lives helping us to expand our love and understanding of Christ and we in turn become the yeast for the Kingdom on earth to fulfill the Impact Christ wanted: to call all sinners to God through a transformed and expanded Kingdom with our display of Faith, Hope and Love for everyone around us. God has a plan for each of us in His Kingdom
Daily Battle Order:
Today, ask God what impact He has prepared for you to have during your time here. Be open in prayer to what He tells you and trust that He has a plan and a place for you to make a positive impact in His Kingdom. Then ask for his guidance towards the next step of your growth in His Kingdom.
