Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. - 1 Peter 5:8
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. - Matthew 18:20
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. - 3 John 4
Our family needed to do something important and spiritually necessary, but nobody could remember for long. When one of us remembered, we all remembered. We spoke about it, but it was never a good time to act.
There was something that our family needed to do, but I was the weak link and I spoiled the evening acting stupidly. Another time, my wife was the weak link and, of course, I blamed her. Children aren’t dumb. They watched us arguing, looked on, and one day began to imitate us.
That’s how it’s happening all over the world, but soon enough and through Jesus Christ, one of us would remember. Oh but, then we’d say, “Tomorrow, we’ll do it”.
What was it that we kept resisting? I’ll tell you: We said that we would go into every room of our house and dedicate it to Jesus Christ. We said that we would give our home and all in it to Jesus Christ.
One day, she stepped between us while we were bickering. She said “Mommy, Daddy…”. She reminded me. I about cried.
What mattered and what really matters….is that one of us remembered and told the rest.
Listen up.
From time to time, one of you has to remember and tell the rest. You have to remember that the Lord loves you and show the rest. You have to remember that we don’t use harsh words - that we hold hands and say grace. You have to remember to forgive and also to forget.
A family is a Spiritual Weapon of awesome strength, and the devil knows that subverting one of you is leverage to tempt the rest. The way around that is that one of you has to remember and show the rest.
DAILY BATTLE ORDER
Sit them down and get real. Tell them that you can’t do it alone and without her and without them and without each other. Hold hands. Never wait a moment to emulate God’s love. Do what I couldn’t: go into every room and say the words. You’ll know what to say.
