“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge - even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you - so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1Corinthians 1:3-9 ESV
[Note: This week we present our Daily Battle Orders as letters written from different members of the Corinth church in the 1st Century.]
I heard good things about Paul when he was in Corinth, but had not met him personally. In his letter to our church, after introductions his first comments are that he is thankful for what God is doing … in us! I had not thought that what God was doing in me, could be a blessing to others. It also made me think of how blessed I am by those around me. I am so grateful to God for my family, friends, and loved ones. The Good News is that our God fills us all with His grace, and He ignites us with His wise words through prayer and the Bible.
And "thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57b). With gratitude, God will help us succeed.
Your ever grateful friend in Christ.
Daily Battle Order: What fills you with gratitude this season? Be sure to share it with all those you love this holiday season.
