Know Your Kingdom MOS
Via The Joshua Commission
Step by Step: How to Discern Your God-Given Role
Pray. Surrender.: Joshua paused to hear from God before acting (Joshua 5:13–15). Lay down your ambitions and pray Psalm 139:23–24, asking God to search and guide your heart.
Identify Your God-Given Strengths: Just as the military tests aptitude, recognize your spiritual gifts (Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12). Look for strengths that good people affirm in you. Notice where you’ve seen lasting results.
Evaluate Your Current Role: Joshua was affirmed by Moses and God (Deuteronomy 31:7–8). Look honestly at your responsibilities. Does your mission field energize you or drain you? Misalignment often signals the need for redirection.
Seek Godly Counsel: Joshua was supported by priests and elders (Joshua 24:31). Ask trusted brothers where they see God’s hand on your life and whether your current role reflects your calling.
Test by Obedience: Israel confirmed God’s promise by stepping into the Jordan (Joshua 3:15–16). Serve in ways that match your gifts and see if it brings fruit, joy, and confirmation from God.
Re-Align Regularly: Joshua’s victories came when he sought God; his failures came when he relied on himself (Joshua 9:14). Make it a rhythm to return to God for correction. Your assignment may grow or shift with seasons, but God’s authorship remains constant.
Closing Thought: You can’t pass or fail this exam. The word “exam” is short for “examination”. Find your mission. Find clarity. God already knows your design.
SEE IT.
EMBRACE IT.
WALK CONFIDENTLY.
