I think about you, whoever you are. I don’t know your name. I never saw you again.
We were in line at the drugstore. You were behind me. The cashier was angry. The customer in front of me was frustrated. They were arguing. A manager was called. I was cursing under my breath and shaking my head.
You started singing, behind me in that line.
“Our God is an awesome God he reigns from Heaven above.”.
I was the only one that heard you. I was embarrassed to turn and see your face.
“With wisdom, power and love”, you sang.
A power washed over the entire store. I can’t explain it. A calmness descended upon everyone. The customer made a joke. You kept singing:
“Our God is an awesome God.”
The manager fixed the problem. I paid for my Gatorade and walked out, never turning back yet thinking about you for these many years.
When the bible tells me that I was made in the image and likeness of God, it doesn’t mean that our high school yearbook photos look similar. It means that I too am a creator. I can speak certain words and bring things into existence according to his law.
It means that I can say his name and He appears.
Say his name and he appears!
Add Faith. Add emotion. Add Respect. Add Gratitude. Sing. Sing his name and about him. He appears. His Angels, all around us. Gentlemen, a small miracle happened in that store that day when someone praised God. I saw that words have power. I saw Praise.
Daily Battle Order
Never forget what you were given the power to do. Use Praise and Worship. Say words of affirmation. You’re a vessel! – Call good things into being! Say it out loud! Sing it out loud!
