“Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.” Zechariah 1:3 (NIV)
God’s love is amazing, and it never wavers, although I may waver from time to time as a human, He is always steadfast. The name Zechariah, from Hebrew, means God remembers.
As a young man I felt lost as a person. I went through several very bad spots within my life. I had too much evil around me, and I was beat as a human and a man.
And then a horrific circumstance happened to one of my buddies right next to me, and shook me to my core. I was so very ashamed, because God remembers and knows all. I realized I cannot hide anything from my Lord, because he knows and remembers all. Although I was ashamed due to the way I was living at the time, I was terrified thinking God knows ALL.
At that point I turned myself over to the Lord. God lifted my shame. I felt a warm peace and a love within my heart that I have never before experienced fill me from the inside out. I cannot hide anything from my Lord, because he knows ALL, and he is an extremely forgiving God
What had been the lowest point in my life, has become the strongest.
This particular verse from Zechariah resonates with me. The Lord asks for us to turn to Him, and He will return to us. His unfailing love and forgiveness is complete majesty: He gave His one and only son to die for our human sins. I know from experience that His unconditional love is more pure than any love known on this earth.
As a man, I strive to give forgiveness and unconditional love as the Lord has for me
Wouldn’t it be amazing as humans if we could love, forgive, and not hold resentments as the Lord does?
Daily Battle Order:
Seek the Lord, love, forgive, and remember how it feels when turning yourself over to the Lord. Remember the peace and love you received.
