“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 18:21 NIV
Congratulations on continuing this journey through the bible as we press into one of the richest sources of wisdom within the Bible. We simply can not adequately cover its breadth, but pray you are drawn into each chapter for your own edification and wisdom.
We encourage you to read the words within Proverbs as encouragement. Personally it’s easy to be drawn to fight and say victory; but too often words of struggle and defeat are spoken. Those have been justified as needing to be alert and raising mine and others awareness - but “you can not talk defeat and expect victory”, April Olsteen.
As new creations in Christ; we are to leave the sins, the guilt, the baggage and the “stinking thinking” behind. We are to claim who we truly are through Christ. We do that by shaping our thoughts, choosing our words, focusing on the vision and purpose God planted in each of us. An attitude of gratitude is the greatest start to the legacy we speak of in the TJC creed.
Daily Battle Order:
A challenge cadets are given is to not use or write with the word’s I or me; it changes your own perception of the words chosen. Imagine being that selective on all our words typed, shared and spoken - choosing to build up. Yes we must see and be alert to the evil; but let us become men of love and encouragement - try it today in all your communications.
