I am a Kingdom Man.

If a husband, I love and serve my wife.

Via The Joshua Commission

“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh." Genesis 2:24

There are a hundred paths through the world that are easier than loving. But who wants easier?” —Mary Oliver

Yah I read Monday’s DBO and of course “agree”, but wow the reason we get married to someone didn’t start with “who do I want to serve? It most likely started with “who is that smoking hot babe?” . And fast forward talk about two cords  braided together, and leaving mom and dad: making love with that smoking hot wife is phenomenal!”

God’s crowning glory in creation was creating a female for Adam, in fact he woke up and went “Whoa, man” and he laid eyes on that helpmate.

And then fast forward six months, maybe six years and maybe 60 years; and the kids rock (the reason procreation is so awesome), but y’all are going to change. Smoking hot takes on new perspectives, and it’s going to take work, but wooing that fine lady took work - did you really want to be easy? Come on we need to keep stepping up our game.

Want the best tip here - go play together, enjoy the same hobby, have something that the two of you look forward to learning together. Yes kids will soak up attention and time, but they need to see mom and dad laughing, doing their own things away from them, they need to see you flirting with your wife, and a little friskyness. When they say “go get a room” you are teaching, and more importantly celebrating the gift God gave you to enjoy.

Action - Now go back and read Monday, and marriage is serving and intentional, and so is joy and celebration. Go back further and remember that silly skills on goals and weekly plans; how did that go meeting those objectives? Was your wife and time just another goal and objective or truly a priority and fun?  Ask her how your “skill” panned out in her life?

THE KINGDOM MAN’S CREED

I am a Kingdom Man. I am created by God to bear His image. I am a son and viceroy for my Fathers work. I am a warrior, lover, teacher and king.

I am a Kingdom Man. Like Joshua, I will be strong and courageous. I will train my mind and body for the battles to come. I will discipline my heart, eyes and tongue to be steadfast and faithful to the calling on my life.

I am a Kingdom Man. If a husband, I love and serve my wife, if a father, a loving father to my children. I will love and lead them as Christ loves the Church. If a brother, uncle, guardian, mentor or friend, I will give honor in all of my relationships. I will lead, teach, correct and train in the spirit of righteousness.

I am a Kingdom Man. I am called to break down barriers and free others from strongholds. I am a Peace Maker. My armor is Truth, Righteousness, Grace and Humility. I will stand in the gap for my neighbor to defend gospel justice for the marginalized.

I am a Kingdom Man. God is my provider. He has given me gifts and talents to exemplify Him with the work of my hands. I will work with diligence and excellence. My labor will be honest and its fruits purposeful.

I am a Kingdom Man with a Kingdom vision. Commissioned by Christ. My life is the Father’s. I am intentional. I will grow in my faith, be consistent in my actions and leave a legacy worthy of the race I have run.

I AM a Kingdom Man!
