“No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:5-9 (NIV)
Yesterday’s DBO focussed on Joshua as leader of the Isrealites into the Promised Land and a great leader overall. In God’s call to Joshua to lead, He reminds Joshua of his time studying while serving under Moses, and to be strong and very courageous. For God’s word, Joshua is to speak it, study it, and confirm his actions to it.
Joshua’s public acceptance of the call to step into a new level of responsibility and authority, based on a creed and example to follow, can be a model for the commissioning of government officials, both military and civilian. To lead or write representing The Joshua Commission requires a public acceptance of TJC’s creed. Each of TJC’s training events includes the opportunity for participating Kingdom men to accept the Joshua Commission. Participation includes a signed commissioning certificate with a copy of TJC’s Creed on the back.
The mission statement for TJC is straight-forward:
“The Kingdom is at War
You were created for Victory”
The Joshua Commission Disciples Kingdom Men”
As part of discipling Kingdom men, each year TJC organizes at least 3 intense, live-fire exercise (LFX) training events. An LFX is any military exercise in which a realistic scenario for the use of specific equipment is demonstrated. TJC’s events require active, authentic participation on the field, as bushwhacking through new territory builds leaders. From teenagers to mature Kingdom men, all participants in TJC events have come out stronger and more on fire to serve God.
In God’s Kingdom, we men are not called to fight alone. Each weekday morning TJC distributes Daily Battle Orders (DBOs). These DBOs are a realistic encouragement and equipping of men to grow in their faith as they start each day. The DBO byline is “via TJC”, as DBO authors have publicly accepted the Joshua Commission (excepting the occasional guest author). TJC also sponsors and helps build/equip local cohorts, which are local or virtual men’s groups. A key tool for these cohorts is the Every Man A Warrior (EMAW) series.
Daily Battle Order:
How about you? Are you content in being a spectator in the stands, or do you want to be an active participant on field, trained and equipped with other Kingdom men, created for Victory and leaving a legacy that is worthwhile? Are you willing to learn about TJC and possibly accept The Joshua Commission for yourself.
For 2022, training and commissioning is happening at least 3 scheduled TJC events include Chickamauga (eastern Tennessee) April 22-24, Manassas, VA June 10-12, and Gettysburg, PA October 14-16.
