It Rears Its Ugly Head…Again

via TJC

At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise

among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes, says the Lord. ~Zephaniah 3:20

“You are Created for Victory!” is what the Spirit reminded me of when He woke up at 0530. Late the night before I was flirting with a sin I had buried. I was like I took a shovel to this sins gravesite and thought, “I’ll just dig around a little and see what I find” You know, the “exploratory sin”, not the full on backsliding, I need “repentance sin” (well at least that’s how I rationalize it to protect me pride.) But the Spirit called me on it and woke me up. He could have let me sleep. He could have let me publish the other DBO I wrote for you to read this morning. (Yep when I woke up I wrote this.) But he didn’t. He woke me up. He tried to snap me out of it. He gave me the choice to choose rebellion or Him. Zephaniah is doing the same thing.

If you’ve been on our TJC Bible Adventure, then you know that Judah keeps falling into the same cycle over, and over and over and over again. God delivers them, they turn away, a prophet warns, disaster strikes, God redeems. Rinse, repeat. It’s becoming exhausting and even to some extent comical. Zephaniah another in a long list of messengers to get Judah to wake up after their rebellion rears its ugly head. He presents the Lord’s options in hopes that they will repent and see they are created for more than the path they are on. They are created for Victory!

Daily Battle Order:

There may or may not be any modern prophets like Zephaniah or the others prophets in the Bible. There may or may not be someone who has heard a word from the Lord to wake up our nation. But the Lord Himself speaks and nudges each of us to wake up. He may stir you in the morning with a reminder of His promise. He may use a sermon or a call from a friend to get your attention. However He gets to you, make the choice to be with him. So today, remind yourself and another Kingdom Man that “You Are Created for Victory!”
