Going The Distance

I am a Kingdom Man with a Kingdom vision. Commissioned by Christ. My life is the Father’s. I am intentional. I will grow in my faith, be consistent in my actions and leave a legacy worthy of the race I have run.

Via The Joshua Commission

- “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭

-“tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

-“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We end this year, where we began in the book of Joshua. Joshua has obediently served the Lord and led the chosen people into the promised land. In the three verses above we see the foundation, the memorial, and the legacy.

Joshua was told and was strong and courage and the people acquired their inheritance. God had them memorialize His faithfulness with a stone for each tribe as he again parted the water. Finally Joshua reminds the people that they will each have to personally accept the covenant God promised and teach it to future generations.

Congratulations on completing the TJC Challenge filled with different lessons and skills. To complete it required obedience and at times being strong and courageous. Your completion is a memorial stone that is part of your personal foundation. And we pray the journey helped you personalize your own covenant with God and have tools to help instruct others. 

“But” this is your race! You alone decide whether your training for mediocrity, or excellence. A coach can only advise you, sharing experience and skills to incorporate. It’s up to you to choose wisely and intentionally train with perseverance and passion. At TJC events we loudly read the creed below, loudly proclaiming the final sentence “I AM A KINGDOM MAN” punctuating it with a loud “HUAA” as an amen.

HUAA means heard, understood and acknowledged. We pray that as you read through the creed below - you have heard it personally, you understand your commitment as a man, and you accept your responsibility and  blessing. 

Go the distance well,  to hear at the end of the race “Well done good and faithful servant” 

THE KINGDOM MAN’S CREED

I am a Kingdom Man. I am created by God to bear His image. I am a son and viceroy for my Fathers work. I am a warrior, lover, teacher and king.

I am a Kingdom Man. Like Joshua, I will be strong and courageous. I will train my mind and body for the battles to come. I will discipline my heart, eyes and tongue to be steadfast and faithful to the calling on my life.

I am a Kingdom Man. If a husband, I love and serve my wife, if a father, a loving father to my children. I will love and lead them as Christ loves the Church. If a brother, uncle, guardian, mentor or friend, I will give honor in all of my relationships. I will lead, teach, correct and train in the spirit of righteousness.

I am a Kingdom Man. I am called to break down barriers and free others from strongholds. I am a Peace Maker. My armor is Truth, Righteousness, Grace and Humility. I will stand in the gap for my neighbor to defend gospel justice for the marginalized. 

I am a Kingdom Man. God is my provider. He has given me gifts and talents to exemplify Him with the work of my hands. I will work with diligence and excellence. My labor will be honest and its fruits purposeful.
