Fulfillment: Reinvited

Blessed are those who wash their robes so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter by the gates into the city. - Revelation 22:14-15

Would I adjust my actions, words, and thoughts… if I knew that tomorrow, the evaluation of my life would take place to accept my re-invitation to embrace the Tree of Life?

I will shake myself out of this fog to take every thought captive to Jesus so that I may walk as the free man, the clean man I was created to be. There would be no fear of my upcoming robe inspections. So what am I waiting for? What holds me back from walking every moment as a free man?

No one had to teach us to sin. It is our original, natural state. As the story goes…Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and also take from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.” The Lord does not want us to live forever in perpetual separation. Just as with Adam, there was a blockage between the Tree of  Life and us.

Yet, since the day Jesus offered up the perfect sacrifice for my sins, I have been invited to return to the Life He intended for me. But I must choose to take hold of my ‘right to the Tree of Life.’ It is not bestowed upon me via autopilot or cruise control. I must daily lay hold of the promise of clean robes and embrace the standing order to press into Life. Now you must choose as well.

Daily Battle Order

You will encounter your enemy’s voice daily, even hourly. You cannot let these voices stand unanswered. As our Lord did, you, too, must forcefully respond. “Get behind me!” Your robes are washed clean by the blood of the Lamb! With the pure sacrifice made by Jesus Christ, every one of us has a personal re-invitation back to the Garden to don clean robes once again.
