Do You Know Your Name?

via TJC

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.” Revelation 2:17

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.” 1 John 5:4

Are you an overcomer? Do you struggle with the idea that you are an overcomer? Do you say to yourself ,”well, when I get past this (fill in the blank) then I’ll be able to say I am an overcomer.   It’s time to put the pieces together brothers. Our faith in Jesus Christ has made us overcomers…period! Overcoming is something we will do for the rest of our lives, it’s a part of the war we are in! (DBO Manual Part 1, The Kingdom is at War.)

The hidden manna is part of our hidden life, the part where only I and God know my struggles and temptations. The hidden manna is something I have as a believer, an overcomer! It is the power from on high to help me and I only need to ask for it. The hidden manna is given to those who overcome, those who are victorious! ( DBO Manual Part 2, You were created for victory.)

The white stone is our purity because we are in Christ and His blood has washed us clean from our sins, shortcomings, and iniquities! My new name is written on that stone. Known only to me and God. It is unique to me and me alone as I am unique to God as His son. It identifies me as one who has been discipled by Him. (DBO manual Part 3, Building Disciple Makers.)

Daily Battle Order:

I must practice these pieces together, every day, and you do as well. It’s like dance moves you learn in class; they keep adding new moves each week and review what you’ve learned so you don’t forget but you have to practice daily if you want to be any good at it. Let us practice daily brothers remembering we’re not alone in this. We will be intentional, we will grow in our faith, we will be consistent in our actions and leave a legacy worthy of the race we have run. We will have a Kingdom Vision because we are Kingdom Men!
