Do I accept what God is Doing For Me? - In Worship

"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshippers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4: 23-24

“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” Romans 12:1

Worship is a lifestyle, not one and done. It’s ongoing in our life and it’s assigning what’s of value to us…and acting upon it! The words of St. Paul were made very real to me about two weeks ago. TJC had its Battlefield training in Chattanooga, TN. It’s about a 10 hour drive from where I live and I really didn’t plan on going until I learned a friend of mine whom I hadn’t seen in 7 or 8 years was going to be there. We had gone to the same church where he was one of the pastors and I wanted to tell him of the effect he had in my life and the life of my best friend. I wanted to share many things with him which I had kept hidden at that time. A text or an email or a phone call wasn’t going to cut it. I wanted to be able to look him in the eyes as I shared my life with him and listen with both of my ears as he shared what was going on in his life as well.

So I drove down to Chattanooga, TN, 10 hours. Was it a sacrifice…absolutely! It was a joyful sacrifice that was indeed acceptable to God. Did I consider it a spiritual service of worship…not at the time. You see, not only did we rekindle a friendship but a fellowship we had lost through distance, time, and life. I received far more in return for my “sacrifice” of worship.

Battle Order:

I am a true worshipper of my Father. Worshipping in spirit and truth comes at a cost but the rewards are breathtaking. I am learning the lifestyle of worship. So Kingdom man, heed the words of William Wallace; “Every man dies, not every man really lives.” Your battle order is a simple one if you accept it; Start living a lifestyle of worship! It is an adventure from your heavenly Father.

Want to learn more about this lifestyle of worship? It’s a lesson taught in our Spiritual Weapons session as we muster at the Manassas National Battlefield Park on June 11th. Check our website to register for this epic event.

Worship is a battle position! We have the high ground when we worship the King! Our Enemy's advances suddenly become small and easy to see...
