“Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the Lord.”
Zephaniah 2:3 ESV
I wish I could say that I have not been complacent at points in my life or even when writing this DBO. However, the truth is I fail to seek the Lord for strength during these moments where I choose the easy way.
On the contrary, I have, at times, chosen to seek God first and ask him to lead me into the unknown, to give me the strength, to provide an answer to a difficult situation, or to help me fight a temptation. The result, ironically, is this DBO. The first step in seeking God is having humility to know that you really are not all that. At any given moment you can easily fail without prayer and asking him to lead you in this world.
“At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are complacent, those who say in their hearts, ‘The Lord will not do good, nor will he do ill.’”
Zephaniah 1:12 ESV
