Building My Legacy

via TJC

“Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell in.” Isaiah 58:12

As we continue in writing DBO’s about Building Disciple Makers. We remind you that this is a “How to” narrative. This week, we will be focusing on Leaving a Legacy. Leaving a legacy is for Them.

My legacy is something I leave behind for others to follow. It’s for Them! My legacy is ongoing, it’s in process, it is the life of God working in me. My legacy is my story. The story I live out every day, knowingly or unknowingly. It is a story of adventure, romance, comedy, tragedy, victories, defeats but most of all, of love. My story is written one sentence at a time. Several years ago I know God was speaking to me in that time in the morning when I’m not quite awake and yet not asleep either. It was impacting and by the time I had made my coffee I had forgotten what He said! I started having a small notebook and a pen at my desk, when I hear from God I don't wait – I get up and write it down. I’ve got a bunch of these little books now and go back from time to time to see what God was speaking to me, but not often enough, because when I go back I see that, in some cases, He is saying the same things to me that He did when I first started writing things down several years ago. My legacy is the story I live out every day; not for myself, but for Them.

Daily Battle Order:

Part of the legacy I will leave is the record of my relationship with God. My little books of God’s messages to me are part of that story, and I build it day by day. Your legacy is ongoing! It is what others will remember about who you are and the influence you have in their lives when they hear your story. Your legacy, your story is written one sentence at a time – start writing today.
