“Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” ~2 Corinthians 12:8-10
-Gap: a break in a barrier: An assailable position
-Breakthrough: an important discovery or event that helps improve a situation or provides an answer to a problem.
Gaps are so often thought of in a negative way. Many gaps are ugly and filled with dangerous pitfalls, deception, confusion, anger, and pride. And that is exactly the way that the enemy wants you to see them. He hopes you see a gap in your life as a hopeless situation. Why? Because then you will not see the way out. You will remain focused on the problem and not the solution.
Breakthrough is an “action “ word. First action - Recognition: observing the situation with a clear mind. Second - Assessing what needs to occur. Third - taking appropriate action in accordance with and submission to God’s will.
Why are these events so important (especially) to Kingdom families? In a nutshell, they’re the reason we grow. Because of how we are made, we need a healthy dose of failure in order to succeed spiritually. In our current sphere, that’s just the way it works. We might call it a weakness, we might call it a “thorn in the flesh”… but in the end, for a Kingdom child, it’s an impending victory. That is exactly what Paul is referring to in the scripture at the top of this page. “For when I am weak, then I am strong “.
DAILY BATTLE ORDER
Take a moment (together as a family if possible) to write down a recent or current gap or breakthrough in your life. Think about and share with others its importance in the grand scheme. Write down and pray with your loved ones about their gaps and breakthroughs. Thank God today for both. They are why you are who you are.
James 1:2-4
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
As all teachers know and leaders of men that an action word means it can be measured.
The true measure if God has touched you will be, "your life will be changed for the good for your entire life". That is the only measure of a miracle that God has saved you. You will not judge men for their sin's. You will follow the Constitution of the United States that all men are created equal and will sin. God judges and God forgives.
