Arguing With and Ignoring God

Via TJC

“So now, be sure of this: You will die by the sword, famine and plague in the place where you want to go to settle.” Jeremiah‬ ‭42‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Have you argued with God or ignored Him? Have you made excuses for not being obedient ? I have, and paid the price, hurting my family, my friends and damaged my credibility and my legacy.

One primary area that has challenged me, is also the #1 challenge for most men - our sexual immorality. Probably more than any culture we are tempted everywhere. As Kingdom Men we are to be Noble with high moral principles and ideals.

Thing is we know there is danger; we hear the wise steering us away, their prophetic voice warns us. On TJC battlefields we always go to the high water mark, and recognize the farthest point of enemy advancement in-order-to establish our own line against the enemy. For some of us we keep setting higher and higher lines without real obedience.

Jeremiah reluctantly becomes a prophet in the only Jewish nation in 627BC, he is a boy. For forty years he delivers prophetic messages and visually acts them out. He is known as the boy prophet and then later the weeping prophet for he will also write what is considered the saddest book in the bible - Lamentations.

We read the prophets and imagine them as wise powerful men, influencing Kings and leaders.

No it was a thankless job, because who wants to hear bad news. In fact prophets were hated. What leader wants to hear they are a lousy leader?

So it’s not surprising that Jeremiah tries to get out of this role. Like Moses

and Jonah he argues that he is not a good speaker. He argues that he is to young.

We don’t read anywhere of success arguing with God. God tells Jeremiah that “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Daily Battle Order:

What voices are you listening to regarding your sexual morality? Is it the world’s condemnation of God’s ideals or is it the word of God? Most of us don’t need another quiet time to ask God; we need to take action. Start with canceling some voices from the news, social media, some poor friends and get serious about not ignoring God!
