ANSWERING THE CALL

via TJC

And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”

So many times in this life extraordinary humans rise to a challenge and emerge victorious despite seemingly impossible odds and difficult circumstances.

Albert Einstein didn’t speak for the first three years of his life. His teachers felt that he was slow, constantly distracted, unable to focus and learn. Despite the lack of confidence that adults had in him, he rose above the negativity and went on to develop some of the greatest achievements in physics and science the world has ever seen. Einstein believed in himself.

Jim Carrey quit school at age 15 to help support his family. At one time they actually lived in a van. Yet he persevered and rose to the highest heights in the field of comedy. He had faith in his ability.

Bethany Hamilton had her arm bitten off by a shark while surfing when she was only 13 years old. She could have easily given up and never surfed again. Instead, she was back on her surfboard a month later. Two years later, she won her division in the National Championship. She answered the call in the face of a monumental challenge.

An angel appears to Mary in Nazareth and tells her she is to Give birth to the son of God via His Holy Spirit. She goes through the motions and preparations for this birth like it’s normal. Are you kidding me? Who is this person who rose up from total obscurity and became the mother of Christ? How can someone deal with a task of this magnitude in such a calm fashion? How do some people answer the call, and some don’t?

DAILY BATTLE ORDER

What is the common thread in each of these triumphant stories? It’s simple. They believed. They had faith. At least in Mary’s case, she trusted God for all that she needed to get her through this amazing life that she lived.

Question: What do you need to do to prepare for your “challenge”? Even though it won’t compare to Mary’s task, you still must answer the call. Commit today to rely on your faith to meet your challenge.
