Remove the dross from the silver, and a silversmith can produce a vessel - Proverbs 25:4
WE Believe that we are always going through a process of sanctification; personal for every person.
Today I tried to do the simple task of rinsing out a milk carton while my wife was doing dishes. Simple, right? No. Before the water entered the opening, it hit the top fold and sprayed in all directions, mostly on her. My good intentions soured a moment when I was trying to help, causing her stress and pain. We recovered from the event and were smiling a few minutes later but it is an example of how, no matter how hard we try, we will eventually make a mistake or misstep in a way that is harmful to ourselves or those around us. This realization can paralyze us and leave us hopeless, staring at an unattainable goal, afraid to act. So how do we live!? The beauty of Christianity is that there is hope, in Christ. He lived perfection and showed us the way. Then he commanded us to try, picking up our crosses and following him. Through striving and failing, we learn about ourselves and Him and our love for Him and desire to be with Him forever is steadily purified until we reach perfection in Heaven.
Daily Battle Order:
Today, think of your soul being boiled, so all the things that keep you away from God rise to the surface where they can be skimmed off and discarded. Understand that each person is in a different stage of this process. Work with those around you to patiently help them skim off their impurities and come closer to Christ.
