Recognize what is Holy
A Command and a Process
Via The Joshua Commission
But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”1 Peter 1:15-16 NLT
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 ESV
Holiness can feel overwhelming. As Kingdom men, we’re told to be holy—as if we could just flip a switch. But holiness is not just a command; it’s a gift we receive through salvation, and it’s also a process we grow into. We can’t earn it through effort, but we are called to pursue it daily.
Thankfully, God hasn’t left us guessing. He’s given us His Word—the Bible—as a manual for holiness. By spending consistent time in Scripture, we begin to understand His character and align our lives with it. The Holy Spirit, who lives in us, helps us grasp what may seem confusing and empowers us to change.
This pursuit of holiness isn’t meant to be done alone. Doing it with others—studying God’s Word together—brings clarity, accountability, and encouragement. Tools like Every Man a Warrior offer a proven path to start growing in this way.
Don’t be intimidated by the call to holiness. Embrace it. Let your next decision reflect God’s character. Aspire not to perfection, but to progress—one holy step at a time.
