Wait For It…

via TJC

For still the vision awaits its appointed time;

it hastens to the end-it will not lie.

If it seems slow, wait for it;

it will surely come; it will not delay.

—Habakkuk 2:3

Have you ever wanted something to come true so desperately that you could feel it… taste it… see it?

Warrior, everything that God has for you, everything meant to take place in your life, good and bad… will happen. They’re your actions, your decisions… but none of them will be made outside the framework of God’s plan for your life. Don’t believe it? Wait for it.

“Wait for it?” you say. “You don’t understand! If it doesn’t happen before ______, I might as well just hang it up!”

“If we don’t have _____ before next April, we’re sunk!”

“My patience is running out and this relationship is already on thin ice. I need a decision… now!”

When you’re about to explode, the last thing you need to hear is “Wait for it”.

Or is it? In the case of Habakkuk, it seems the purpose of waiting for divine justice was the wait itself. As he writes down his thoughts in this book, Habakkuk begins to “season his reason” with a more and more holy and profound understanding of what

God is bringing to the overall experience of Babylonian captivity, so much so, the last chapter becomes a psalm of praise for the future deliverance of the Israelite captives. What trust and strength the prophet was blessed with!

When was the last time you pleaded with God for an answer, a solution, a conclusion… and the answer was “Wait for it”? What was your response? Did you panic and distrust the process? Or did you ask for and receive a measure of restraint and, yes… patience…?

Daily Battle Order:

Pray that in your next confrontation with the Enemy (and you will have one) God will give you the strength and foresight to wait on His perfect timing in delivering justice His way.
