This is how I fight my battles: In Prayer

Updated: May 18, 2022

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.” Psalm 40:1-2

This week we will be focusing Daily Battle Orders relative to fighting battles using the weapons given to us by God in Prayer, Praise, Worship, Fasting, and Tithes and Offerings. Today we will focus on Prayer.

I have been a part of a group of men who have met for Bible study to “Journal Through the Word” together over the past 4 years. We have shared life, loss, joy, sorrow, victory, and defeat with one another. We have also shared prayer requests. Many of which have been requests for years, waiting for an answer.

One of our group recently received an answer to a long awaited prayer request, for the salvation of a close family member. On the day before Easter Sunday this year, that dear loved-one and family member came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

Think about this amazing promise. When we wait patiently for the Lord, he indeed does incline to us and hears our cry. When we pray, crying out to God, the God of the universe leans in to hear our cry.

Daily Battle Order

God only hears our prayers when we actually reach out to him in prayer. Are you holding back on reaching out to the Lord in prayer about something or someone that is heavy on your heart? About a battle that you are facing or in the midst of? Today’s Battle Order is to reach out to the Lord in prayer. Begin the conversation with the Lord. He will hear, and He will help.
