Claim Victory The Constant BattleVia The Joshua Commission The Best Plan for Victory“Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.” Did you ever know someone who won every spiritual battle? Yeah, me neither. However, those who return home ultimately victorious have some common traits. 1) They always acknowledge that the battle is the Lord’s. 2) They stand firm in their belief. 3) They put on the whole armor. 4) They persevere and resist to the end. I’m sure there are lots of stories of people winning spiritual battles. But I feel compelled to lend a personal perspective, simply because it’s what I know works. First of all, give up any hope of working it out on your own. Secondly, give it to Him. Thirdly, do what God tells you to do and use his word as your guide. And lastly, always remember… You are on the winning side. Victory is not easy. Spiritual victory cost Jesus everything. Be encouraged… This war is already won. It’s just that, for us, until we cross the finish line, the race still has to be run. The battles still have to be fought. “The dragon is slain, but his tail still swishes.” Get up every morning and put on that armor. Stand firm. “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” |
