October

For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.” Proverbs 9:11

October is one of my favorite months, partly because it’s my birth month, so it was always full of milestones.

Spiritually, October represents a cycle, a profound period of transformation, letting go, and the thinning of the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds (more on Halloween later this month.

Just as trees shed their leaves, October invites us to release outdated habits, heavy emotions, and burdens that no longer serve what is good. October marks a time to reap the metaphorical fruits of the intentions and efforts you planted earlier in the year, and offer thanks for your growth.

TJC has been using two themes throughout 2026; 1) it’s America’s 250th birthday and we have journeyed through our history, 2) we have paid special attention to the events and themes in our modern calendar as opportunities to reflect and celebrate.

This month we move into the 1930s and America is coming out of WWI into the tragic events of the great depression and the dust bowl (our first major ecological disaster), and a major government transformation with the “new deal” that ripples into today. Major October themes include Breast Cancer awareness, domestic violence awareness and Italian American heritage.

TJC will be at Kings Mtn for a “Rise Up” summit, 2-3 October to commemorate a major turning point in the revolutionary war where TN volunteers stepped forward to defeat British led Tories. The patriot victory sets the stage for the final chapter of our fight for independence.

October has some noteworthy calendar dates that include Columbus day, national bosses day, international forgiveness day, national music day. make a difference day and Halloween.

Daily Battle Order; Do nothing but sit still for five minutes OUTSIDE and ask God where you need more of His wisdom.  Actually make that 15 minutes as we are far too impatient.
