“Christ is God’s ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one. Human wisdom is so cheap, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God. Human strength can’t begin to compete with God’s “weakness.” 1 Corinthians 1:22-25 MSG
Our advent study is focused on the Holy Family; we started with the Mother of our savior, Mary, and her absolute obedience and then nurturing love raising our savior.
This week we study Joseph as the model man of righteousness and faith for us to mirror; to trust God’s wisdom and not our own.
The greatest story ever told starts with a real moral dilemma as Joseph learns his “virgin” fiancé is pregnant, and it’s not his child. Talk about a personal dilemma, and this is where we often see who we really are come out. Joseph responds from deep in his character and deep love for Mary.
He wanted to break the engagement and quietly protect Mary of his own wisdom. But then it is confirmed that he is the man to walk alongside Mary and eventually build a home for our savior.
Daily Battle Order:
What is your home built on? Do you trust in your own wisdom and strength; or do you trust in God? Go beyond the surface answer this week.
