Who is our enemy? Deceiver

via TJC

And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world - he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Revelation 12:9

When a Daily Battle Order is given to armed forces, it is important for the armed forces to know who the enemy is so that the enemy is more readily recognized. Knowing who is being fought and the enemy’s attributes are key for the armed forces strategy to successfully fight against the enemy and not themselves. This week, Daily Battle Orders will be focused on who our enemy is (Satan), and his attributes. Knowing who he is then provides us with strategic intelligence to successfully fight against him and not against God or eachother.

The passage above from Revelation describes the fall of Satan from heaven down to earth. Genesis Chapter 3 describes the fall of man, influenced by the deceit of Satan. Satan deceived Adam and Eve into believing that God’s Word was not true. They in turn believed their own truth, which led to sin entering the world. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Daily Battle Order:

Satan’s goal is to bring you down and keep you down with him. He fell and he wants you to fall as well. His deceitful ways are to get you to question God’s Word, God’s sovereignty (His supreme power), God’s plan, and God’s love for you. Now that you know that Satan is “the deceiver of the whole world”, wouldn’t you rather follow “the light of the world” (John 8:12)?
