Take your Soul off Airplane Mode

via TJC

As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3

I'm sitting here watching a famous musical artist on YouTube singing on stage in what appears to be a diabolical ritual. The video has millions of views.  Day after day, I watch national and personal divisions play out in the workplace, the marketplace, and the town square. I can't help but feel that because there is so much iniquity, the love of people is growing cold. (Matthew 24:12). My heart breaks for this nation as we turn away from God and the immediate consequences result.

I cannot deny the existence of a daily battle involving not only flesh and blood but spiritual forces of darkness. The Kingdom is indeed at war. Except, I belong to Christ.

What is my baseline? What do I do when I am at "zero"? What is my non-negotiable?

My non-negotiable is this: I can never put my soul in airplane mode. Paul's call for prayer wasn't a request but a strategic necessity. When I take my soul off airplane mode, I start talking to God and listening. I am walking/praying, driving/praying, cooking/praying.

I know Jesus is in my heart, and I have the right to speak with God!

In constant connection with the Holy Spirit, we directly confront the powers that seek our spiritual destruction. The Lord is faithful to his promises. Paul didn't lie: God will strengthen you. God will deliver you from the evil one. His strengthening is not just a mere boost of morale. It's divine empowerment, enabling us to stand when everything around us crumbles. The evil one, who prowls like a roaring lion, finds no easy prey in a heart fortified by and connected to the Lord.

DAILY BATTLE ORDER:

You don't have to wait one more second to talk with God. He is right here in the room with you. He has the bandwidth and the desire. All you have to do is say hello and keep talking. Keep listening. Do it out loud and do it silently.  Reach out right now.
