National Bring your Kid to Work Day

Where do you find your worth- in your job, your family, or in the titles and status you’ve earned?

Jesus the king of the universe at one point did have a job title. He was a carpenter (Mark 6:3).The creator of Heaven and Earth also made furniture!? What it must have been like for Joseph to bring his son Jesus the savior of the world to work with him. I never feel more like a hero than when my daughters see me hard at work and just are in awe. When they see the pain and sweat that has to take place for the life that they have. I think it is very important for our kids to see us do our daily tasks. No matter your job title. No matter your status. Just plain old hard work. Jesus watched His dad Joseph, a simple carpenter hard at work providing for his family the best way he knew how. And that was enough for the King of the universe. He didn’t care about titles or status. 

I am a carpenter by profession and at times I feel like I chose a poor career. But then I remember King Jesus! If The king of the universe wanted to be a carpenter then it is definitely good enough for me!

So no matter your job or your title. Take your kid to work and let them see you work unto the Lord. Let them be a part of your day and show them why you do what you do and who you do it for. Take pride in knowing that whatever you do, You do it for King Jesus!

Father in Heaven, let me put my hand to the plow. Help me to work diligently like the example you gave me in your life. No matter what the job is or how undesirable it may be, help me to work hard and with integrity. Help my family to see me and know that I love them. Let me be an example to them on how to be a good steward of this life that you gave me. Let everything that I put my hand to bring Honor and Glory to your name. Let others see you in my hard work.
