Men of God Are Not Inert

Technically, you may be a race car….but are you in the race?

via TJC

In those days, as Mordecai was sitting at the king's gate, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, who guarded the threshold, became angry and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. And this came to the knowledge of Mordecai, and he told it to Queen Esther, and Esther told the king. When the affair was investigated and found to be so, the men were both hanged on the gallows. Esther 2:21

Small choices made now can have a major impact downstream. Mordecai heard murderous words. His response had ripple effects far down range, ultimately saving an entire nation. Being inert is different from being patient. Both have significant results. Working for a printing company, I became friends with a former classmate of my wife, a woman who loved the Lord. One day while chatting she expressed excitement about an upcoming vacation to the shore. I was immediately disturbed in my spirit. This was strange. ‘What is going on Lord?’ The Spirit said “This young lady is going on vacation with her boyfriend and planning to share a bedroom.” I could have played it safe and done nothing; just allow the weeds to grow up through my chassis. But to be inert, would have made me a coward, less than a brother and disobedient. After running what I heard past my wife, I asked the Lord to guide me. The next day, over lunch, I shared with her what I heard AND that such activity with her boyfriend would grieve the Lord. She began sobbing loudly. She was convicted. The boyfriend was putting pressure on her to have sex. I explained that manipulation is not a trait for men of God. There was no vacation and the relationship ended. Later, she married an outstanding man. Because I chose to not remain inert, a couple's history was impacted.

Daily Battle Order:

‘My sheep know My voice.’ Practice being responsible for what you hear and resist the temptation to to protect yourself by being inert. Stay in the race!

" Being inert is different from being patient. Both have significant results. " Great insight and clarity!
