It was Sat Sep 21, 2024 and it was a great day.I was up before everyone else and knowing that you had a long week with the kiddos, I took baby J so that you could sleep in. Shortly after getting into a decent routine Braden woke up and then Landon. You heard the baby crying so you got him and went back to bed. I was able to take the rest of the crew out to the playground and get them out so you could rest! Coming back before lunch, I was looking outside while doing the dishes and I was suddenly caught by surprise as a pair of hands wrapped around my waist with a hug from behind. I enjoyed the silent hug and embrace for a few minutes until the silence becomes awkward, and then a soft whimper alerts me to turn in your hands. Sensing that something is wrong, I embrace the seriousness of the hug and your whimper turned into sobbing and the frustration as you tell me my tumor marker has risen 11 points in 2 weeks. Shocked but resilient, I keep my calm. The boys walk in and I ask for a group hug because they do not understand why you are crying. This letter I hope you never read because we kept the faith, fought the good fight, and used prayerful wisdom to take the right steps to live this through. I am blessed to be your husband and thank you for our awesome warriors!
