If you paid attention, TJC never states an author’s name, but we present as “Via” the Holy Spirit—as men pray, edit, and share before we publish. Today, we celebrate the 4th of July via the amazing patriots that have gained and secured our great American experiment in self-governance.
I like you can barely sing the national anthem - choking up to sing, “O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.” I’m thrilled to hear our kids state,
“I pledge allegiance
To the flag of the United States of America
And to the republic
For which it stands
one Nation under God,
Indivisible,
With liberty and justice for all.”
And I close my eyes and say amen when our elected officials finish an address proclaiming, “God Bless America.”
Why? Because we live in a very special place where a small group of men committed treason, and clearly stated their resolve; “for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
Daily Battle Order:
Enjoy some beers (not Bud-Light), some burgers, and fireworks, but make it a point to reflect on the celebration of bold men who risked it all stating, “All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
