No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. Revelation 22:3-4
When I stopped believing that I am alone in any place, I stopped lying about sin.
I’m not alone - ever. All around us are the agents of the Kingdom of God: the Holy Spirit, angels and demons. There’s no earthly darkness that can cover or hide sin. They’re all watching.
Jesus Christ knows about sin and my sin. He knows how we struggle. God’s plan is to eradicate sin, itself. Revelation 22:3-4 is a passage from the Bible that has a lot of significance. In this passage, the apostle John is describing his vision of the New Jerusalem, the city of God that will be established on Earth at the end of time.
The city of God will no longer experience any pain or suffering, because the curse of sin will have been lifted. Have hope: There is a better future ahead, where we will be free from the negative effects of sin and will be able to enjoy perfect peace and joy. On that day, the throne of God and of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) will be in the city, and that we will serve him there. Our ultimate purpose in life is to serve and worship God.
The river of life that will flow through the city, the presence and power of God. It will provide sustenance and healing to all who drink from it.
God is our source of strength and life. We can find refreshment and nourishment in him, even in sin - even in the darkness - even when I am guilty - especially when I am guilty.
