“”He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”’ ~ Revelations 21:5

A statement I heard recently about living out our faith is when we live like “we have nothing to prove, nothing to hide, and nothing to fear” we will then be walking out our faith and not walking it off. Sounds amazing doesn’t it? Yet, isn’t that exactly the freedom that Jesus bought for us with His precious blood on the cross? Jesus’ declaration to John is not “I WILL make everything new”, He said “I AM making everything new.” That means us!

When someone trusts in God for salvation, the Holy Spirit indwells him, and he becomes a new creation. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). The believer is no longer bound by sin; we become new creations, able to please God and live in His ways.

So how do we live out this abundant life we already own? This to me is the greatest struggle of being a disciple of Jesus because we still have to hang out in this depraved world surrounded by sin, evil, and our own failings, fears, and lies..

As we read Revelations 21, take your time with this chapter. Wrap yourself in the promise of HOME, that we are going to. And allow that hope to change the way we get to know Jesus, become more like Him, and make Him known to those He puts in our sphere of influence.

Daily Battle Order:

So what do you have to prove? Nothing, because Jesus is our proof. What do you have to hide? Nothing, because Jesus’ light shines clearly on all things true and more specifically who we are in Him. And when we push back against the lies that we aren’t good enough and start to believe and act like who Jesus says we are, then fear is destroyed by the freedom we have in Jesus – because He is our good enough.
