In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. ~John 1:1-4.
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. ~2 Cor 5:20
A Viceroy is an important position in any kingdom or empire (a nod to the Star Wars fans). A viceroy wields incredible power and authority. What is most interesting about a viceroy, especially an exceptional one, is they know the power and authority they exercise doesn't originate with them. They exercise it on behalf of the Sovereign.
As Kingdom Men, this is our exact position. We are entrusted to carry out power and authority to expand the Kingdom for the King. We don’t create anything, all things were made through Him. We are to steward everything in our sphere of influence to bring life and love (John 13:34).
Daily Battle Order:
Victory is in our application. Neither our words or our actions are our own. When we speak and act, those in earshot should see and hear Jesus and His kingdom. That doesn’t mean we walk around quoting verses in the King James to everyone. Rather, we use words to unite, build up, forgive, correct, teach and train in righteousness. Today (especially in the current climate), when we as Kingdom Men speak and act like this, people take notice and ask, “Who are you and where did you come from?” That’s when you tell them about the Kingdom you represent.
What an amazing yet simple concept. We throw around the term ”servant leader” a lot, but it works as does Viceroy. Kingdom Men lead by making themselves available to God for His purposes. In doing so, people are instinctively drawn to it.
I don't think of that part of our creed very often, "I am a son and Viceroy for my Father's work." This statement also got my attention, " We are to steward everything in our sphere of influence to bring life and love" (John 13:34). It certainly brings a lot more to the table than just a tithing sermon. This has stirred my spirit. I am in TJC, I just don't ponder, understand and act on our creed as though I mean it. Great DBO today! It makes me want to press in all the more!
